Congratulations- you bought a new carrier, came home, put the baby inside it and it cries its lungs out. Where did you go wrong?
Don’t panic. In our modern society many simple things, such as natural birth, breastfeeding a using a carrier, can be hard to accomplish simply because we lack the knowledge and reciprocal support of moms who live in traditional societies, where young women know all about carrying babies since their early childhood (and about childbirth and breastfeeding as well).
We must make the most of what we do have- virtual information, like this blog and may othes, and non-virtual help either from friends or from babywearing instructors.
So my first advice is- get someone to help you and teach you how to use the carrier correctly. If you don’t have a friend who can help, find someone who does it for a living. I also advise to follow my tips for beginners.
