Carrier as a fashion accessory

Some moms I know are happy to wear the baby carrier as a means to hide the extra weight and milk stains on their shirts, and a pretext for not wearing fancy clothes.

Other moms are quite the opposite- they don’t let the trivial fact of carrying a baby most of the time stop them from dressing nicely. Most moms pick the color of their carrier so it would fit their general style of dressing, but some moms simply buy several carriers so they have a mix&match collection and never go out with a carrier that clashes with their blouse. I actually know moms who have special evening wear black silk carriers to wear when going out. There are, of course, other good reasons for having a large collection of carriers- I’ll have to write another post about that

Some carriers come with cute baby patterns, like teddy bears or Kitty cats, but most carrier makers (being moms themselves, usually) seem to understand that the carrier is an item for the mom and not for the kid, and choose fabric patterns that would fit an eleg ant woman’s wardrobe.
