Indigenous baby wearing

As I wrote in my previous post, in traditional societies the simplest piece of cloth turns into a carrier, and in fact the whole concept of baby wearing is much simpler and taken for granted.

Here you can watch the way an African woman wears her baby on her back. If you wonder how come she does it so easily, it is mainly because she did it ever since she was a child herself (but if you think an occidental woman can’t do it just as well, you’ve got another thing coming!).

Another way of baby wearing using a simple cloth is the Honduran way which may be used, I suppose, for smaller babies as well (provided the mother is skilled enough).
