One of the things I like about the Mei Tai is that it’s good from birth to toddler.
You can wear your baby on your front, hip or back, facing in or out, all wrapped around in a perfect sleeping position or comfortably watching the world outside when wide awake
No matter how old or how heavy your baby is, the Mei Tai is always useful.
This is how you wear your Newborn on your front in a Mei Tai. Most mothers I know prefer to wear their baby on their tummy, where they can see and touch it and even nurse, though some prefer the cradling position, for which you can use a wrap or a sling.
However there are more ways to carry a Newborn for the more daring mother…
(more about that, later).
